An Afternoon In Conversation With The Bletchley Girls
1h 6m
Author of The Bletchley Girls, Dr Tessa Dunlop is joined by two of the final Bletchley Park veterans, Betty Webb, OBE and Pat Davies for an astonishing hour of revelation, history, myth-busting and good humour. Betty, 98, is the poster-girl for WWII women in the army and at the Park. She worked in Bletchley Park’s famous red brick mansion and by 1945 was one of the only women in the Pentagon. A German speaker, Pat meanwhile was intercepting messages along Britain’s coastline, on the coalface of the codebreaking operation she sent vital information back to the Park. Good friends, over the last year these extraordinary women have once again dug deep simply to survive. Together with historian Tessa they are guaranteed to deliver an hour of history you’ll never forget.
