Join Grammy-nominated artist Tippa Irie in conversation with British novelist Alex Wheatle in this exclusive screening of a live event to celebrate the launch of his memoir Stick to My Roots.
The event will initially be broadcast on 1 September at 6.30pm UK time. It will be available to view up to two weeks after the event has ended and can be accessed Worldwide. Not just a successful performer, Tippa has also built up a reputation as a top radio DJ, record producer and owner of his own studio. To date, Tippa remains one of the most successful entertainers to come out of the UK and continues to fly the flag for the UK scene wherever he goes.
For this brilliant event, audience members can expect to hear about the histories that shaped Tippa’s relationship with music, the development of sound system cultures and what it has been like crafting sounds that have allowed him to speak back home to Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and the UK.
