Ticket To the World is an evocative, candid and joyously nostalgic visit back into the 80s. Journeying through Martin’s reminiscences and influences of this unforgettable time, he shares his personal anecdotes and reflections on the social, cultural and political climate underpinning the eighties. Within the book, Martin writes about leading the New Romantics, his adventures with Spandau Ballet, the heady nights out at the Blitz, and Live Aid as well as many other memorable moments. From friendships with George Michael, Sade and Boy George to living under Thatcher this is the most comprehensive book on the period.
In conversation with Robert for this unique virtual event, Martin will explore this iconic decade through his first hand experience, taking you back to where it all began in a decade that helped shape our culture and society. Don’t miss this fantastic event.
