‘You really want to kill your dad?’, Amber says. ‘No!’ God, I panic so quickly I can’t breathe. ‘My stepdad.’
From a comic mastermind comes this brilliant collection of comical, refreshing and often brilliantly relatable stories. With everything from teenage friendship to parenthood to leaving London, this debut collection is perfect for fans of Miranda July, Emma Jane Unsworth and Dolly Alderton.
Josie will be joined in conversation for this extra special virtual event where she will explore her inspiration and the writing process for this electric collection of short stories. This event promises to be as frank and hilarious as Josie, be sure not to miss it.
“Josie Long is my favourite comedian and when reading these stories, all the cynicism I’ve acquired gets replaced by the enthusiasm I felt the first time I saw her live.” James Acaster
“Powerful, brutal, and full of grace, Josie Long's debut is something to savour. Long's characters are desperate and in deep, deep trouble, dealing with everything from social alienation to a full on apocalypse. But her humour and empathy miraculously steers us towards triumph and redemption. I loved it.” Simon Rich
